Road Trip Talk privacy policy

Information handled on your device

Favorite and viewed question IDs, preferred playlist length and reading size, and the current playlist’s selected collections, question order, and progress. The app does not collect a trip route or GPS position. This information stays on the device by default. Free questions and local saving need no account. Turning on backup sends the saved information to your private account as described below.

Collection and tracking

There are no ads, and DigixData does not use this information for advertising tracking. The app does not record audio or access contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location. Account, purchase, and app-update processing is described below. Your platform and app store may process downloads, diagnostics, and other information under their own policies and settings.

App updates

In native app versions configured for Expo’s EAS Update service, update checks run automatically, including for guests and while backup is off. Expo receives a randomly generated, stable pseudonymous installation identifier, the app’s platform and runtime version, and project and update identifiers to deliver compatible updates and recover from failed updates. The installation identifier is stored on the device and is not derived from your hardware or account.

If a previous fatal app error was recorded, a later update request can include error diagnostics limited to 1,024 characters. Network requests also expose an IP address and technical request information. See Expo privacy information for its processing and retention.

Sharing

The app does not record conversation answers or provide a content-sharing feature.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Saved content remains locally until removed. The app does not separately encrypt personal content on the device. Platform backups and restoration depend on your device settings. Uninstalling or clearing storage can permanently remove content.

Favorites can be removed individually in Saved. Starting another playlist replaces the saved current playlist. Platform storage controls or removing the app and its data can remove all local content. This does not remove previously shared exports or platform backups.

Purchases

When purchases are available in your app version, Apple or Google processes payment and RevenueCat verifies collection ownership and restores purchases. Collections are one-time purchases. RevenueCat processes an anonymous app user ID or a customer ID linked to your signed-in account, purchase and receipt or token information, and technical device, app, and network information. DigixData uses purchase-service records to verify access, restore purchases, and provide support. We do not send your saved conversation content or content preferences to RevenueCat, and we do not request or receive payment card details. No advertising attribution or optional personal customer attributes are added by these apps.

RevenueCat records country from store transactions or the request’s IP address, and the last service connection time as “Last Opened.” This does not use GPS or precise location. See RevenueCat privacy information.

Purchase-service records may be kept while needed for ownership verification, support, or applicable obligations. Removing local content does not erase purchase records. When account and purchase cleanup services are configured, account deletion requests erasure of the linked RevenueCat customer profile; unfinished requests are retained for retry. Apple and Google retain their own store records under their policies. Restoring a purchase later can create a new purchase-service profile. Contact support@digixdata.com for purchase-related privacy requests.

Optional account and private backup

Questions and local saves require no account. In an account-enabled version, Full Collection includes optional private backup for this app; individual question packs include local saving. Sign-in and restoration of an existing backup remain available to returning account holders. Choose Turn on backup in Settings → Account & backup to upload the saved information described above. Features depend on the version and services available in the app; backup is off until you turn it on.

Where available in your app version, you can use email and a password or sign in with Google or Apple. Supabase hosts the account and database and processes your provider identity, email address (including an Apple private relay address when used), user ID, session credentials, saved app content, network information, and technical service logs. DigixData uses this information for account access, backup, recovery, and support. Apple refresh tokens registered for account cleanup are encrypted with a separate server key before storage. Signed Apple permission-change notifications are verified before processing, and completed notification IDs are retained to prevent duplicate processing. See Supabase privacy information, Google privacy information, and Apple privacy information.

For email accounts, Supabase verifies your email address and password and stores a salted password hash. Passwords and verification codes are sent over encrypted transport to authenticate you. The app does not include them in saved conversation content or backups. Email confirmation and password recovery use codes sent to the account’s email address. Use the same sign-in method or an already linked identity to return to your saves; accounts with the same verified email may be linked by the authentication service.

Resend delivers requested account-confirmation, password-reset, and account-security emails for DigixData. It processes the recipient email address, message contents including verification or reset codes, delivery metadata, and service logs to deliver and protect these messages. Retention follows the service configuration and applicable obligations. These messages are for account operation, not advertising. Saved conversation content is not sent to Resend for these emails. See Resend privacy information.

Each app keeps a separate backup within your account, with a 2 MB text limit. Uploads require verified Full Collection ownership. Backups use authenticated access and encrypted transport; they are not end-to-end encrypted. Authorized DigixData and hosting-provider personnel can access stored information when necessary to operate the service or respond to a support or privacy request. Native sign-in credentials use the operating system’s secure storage. Browser versions use browser storage.

Changes stay on this phone until an upload succeeds. Account & backup shows the backup status and last backup. Pause backup stops new uploads on that device and retains the existing backup. Intentional sign-out stops uploads and hides that account’s local saves until you sign in to it again. Backups remain until replaced or the account is deleted. Backup cannot guarantee recovery from every data loss; keep independent copies of important memories when available. Infrastructure backups and technical logs follow the hosting service’s retention and recovery settings.

Apple sign-in changes

Stopping Apple sign-in removes the affected app’s registered Apple credentials and can end its Apple sign-in sessions. It does not delete your shared Conversations account or backups. After an involuntary Apple sign-out, this app’s account saves stay available on this phone, including after reopening it. Sign in again to reach your backup, or choose Leave this account to hide those saves here. Another person’s account cannot access them.

If Apple reports that your Apple Account was permanently deleted, we remove the associated Apple sign-in data. We delete the shared Conversations account and backups only when no other linked sign-in identity or registered Apple credential remains. An account linked to Google can remain available through Google. Contact support if you need help recovering access.

Account deletion and recovery

In an account-enabled version, use Settings → Account & backup → Delete my account. You may need to sign in again. Deletion removes your shared Conversations account and every app’s backup, and clears this app’s account saves and recovery backup on the device where deletion is completed. Local content in other apps or devices, previously shared exports, platform backups, infrastructure recovery backups and logs, and store purchase records can remain. Registered Apple tokens are revoked when possible. If Apple cleanup is unavailable, deletion can still finish and the app shows instructions to remove Apple’s sign-in permission in Apple Account settings.

Restore purchases restores paid collection access through your store account. Restore from backup restores saved information in the same signed-in account and keeps a temporary recovery backup on that device. Deleting an account does not refund a purchase. A different sign-in provider or email can create a separate account; use the original provider or an already linked identity to recover your original saves.

You can request account deletion without installing or opening the app by contacting support@digixdata.com. See account-deletion help. We verify control of the account before processing the request.

Support and privacy requests

Contact support@digixdata.com. The privacy overview explains support email and this website. We cannot retrieve or erase content that exists only on your device.

Audience and changes

Accounts, purchases, and app operation are for adults age 18 or older. Younger people may join the spoken conversation with an adult reader. The app does not offer child accounts or a service for children to submit responses directly. It does not verify the reader’s age or record audio. An adult decides which prompts are appropriate and can skip any question. Do not enter personal information about another person unless you have permission to share it. The app is for an adult passenger or while parked. The driver must not operate it while driving. When data handling changes, we update the effective date and policy.
